It looks like 900K shares were closed on Jun 14. There were only 174K shares traded on the ASX that day, so these shares weren't bought on the exchange. Haven't seen anything like it before. Best guess is this was an OTC deal made directly with a large shareholder. (Possibly a deal with whoever lent the short shares in the first place.) Assuming that's the case, we have no way of knowing what price the shares were sold at.
Anyway, 2M shares still outstanding. To the extent there's a silver lining, it's a sign the short is getting worried - if they thought they were going to get a capitulation on the ASX, they would wait for it.
