The above quote needs to be challenged:
A large number of people on the public payroll are the Police Services, Army, Navy, Airforce,Nurses,doctors(public hospitals),scientists(CSIRO),Fire and emergency services,Customs,teachers, health inspectors etc and I could go on.
I suggest that the vast majority of public sector workers contribute to the welfare and quality of life in Australia and in fact many of these services are so essential we could not do without them.
