Dave R, Thank you for your marvelously insightful and detailed contribution to the debate. The point is that your Government stupidly created a situation where niave young Aussies were lured into the temporarily and artificially property market (by your Govt)by an illusiory benefit. In this market they faced an assymetrical situation where they were often taken to the cleaners by experienced property owners and their grinning agents. Some didn't realise that you were supposed to bargain and they you weren't expected to pay the full asking price. Lambs to the slaughter. Now they are holding property that they paid too much for, borrowed too much for and are faced with steeply rising interest rates (again thanks to your Govt). You don't seem to care about this Dave. I thought you lefties were supposed to be sympathetic to the plight of the disadvantaged. Social justice. The thing with the ALP is 'hey, we have our noses in the trough, who cares about the rest of you suckers'.
