The Australian government has vowed to bring BNPL under Credit Act/Responsible Lending, the UK no longer applies to Zip and the US authorities could already bring the industry to heel under a variety of banking, consumer protection and state based legislation, but haven't and may not necessarily do anything further, partly in view of the industry busting its chops to get the self regulation message across.
