What you say is correct but I was aiming to point out
1. that the yield from an open cycle site reduces over time more than a closed system as it has at Waireki and that have been remedied in newer fields and
2. that the heat capacity at plate boundaries is small compated to continental plate locations.
I was not intending to denigrate NZ efforts. I was by implication criticising some of the Californian practices that have compromised long term resources there.
