Hi float^ although i dont crop ..too much nitrogen (excessive) isnt good for plant growth in fact may damage ,stunt even kill plants ..farmers tend to use less to reduce risk (damage ) too plant plus cost & lately availability .Spreading is usually early to kick start plant growth(roots) & 1 later to help yield which is important
