Even if the DOW closes down - 403 tonight it would likely still be just above the 50 day moving average and technically that would be the best multi-day pre-Fed set up on the DOW all this year and imo means technically a bounce is more likely than a fall after the rates announcement, if there is any truth that the market preempts.

Tomorrow night is one of tense, much watched market anticipation … a 1.0% rate rise would surprise and disappoint the market and cause a big sell off for a night or 4 … 0.5% might initially cause a rally but fear that the Fed wasn’t taking inflation seriously enough would soon set in … 0.75% May or may not be the Goldilocks rise as much would swing on what Powell gives at a press release 30 mins after the rates announcement.

So 3 possible rates outcomes x shifty weasel words from Powell = a multiple diverse market responses … so a fun pinning comp tomorrow 8)).

After market close reporting tomorrow includes Microsoft and Google, with both expected to beat market consensus which should give a boost at least to Nasdaq on Thursday.

Google and Microsoft reported after market close this morning our time.

Both ever so slightly missed guidance but outlook must have pleased the market as both are up by about 5.5% in after market trade.

Big tech is not dead yet in this market.

Augurs well at least for Nasdaq tonight as a very positive influence around whatever the Fed does with interest rates … adding to a Fed initiated market bounce or mitigating a Fed initiated market fall.
