Mate I hate to be boring, but in 2003 Black Swan belonged to MPI. In 2004 it was bought by LionOre and Norilsk bought from them in 2007 (in the middle of a nickel price spike). By 2009 it was closed.
In 2009 Mining News article stated "The company said the decision was made after a review was conducted and is largely the result of the prevailing economic climate and its impact on the nickel price."
But I have it on very good authority that's a load of crap and it was under orders from Vladimir...
