According to some, the company was deadset certain to be issuing a downgrade in May due to the Shanghai lock down.
It didn't happen so now some people are shifting the goalposts, and trying to frame meeting guidance as a disappointing outcome. They actually raised their sales forecast in February. If they meet that in spite of the market volatility in China then I would have thought that is a good sign.
Not sure why it is so inconceivable to people that the company might do something they said they would do. For instance, they said English label would launch in mid-July. Lo and behold, it launched in mid-July. I am not sure why that would be a shocking development for anyone?
Yes, maybe they could have announced they were putting an FDA application in formally to the market, but the CEO made a media statement on it, and we all saw it, so who really cares how the knowledge was disseminated as long as it was. There's been no outcome on the application yet, so no news.
For other smaller companies, you sometimes get an announcement for every minor development / step the company takes, but is that good communication? Or are they just priming you for more capital raising? In my experience it's usually the latter.
I do believe A2M have poorly outlined their USA IF strategy and the USA CEO (Waltrip) should have been moved on years ago. There is a bigger issue about strategy more so than communication. There's only a couple of weeks until annual results reporting and they will almost certainly be asked about this now (whereas I do not recall them being asked much about the USA IF strategy in recent years).
