Here's a European wasp story to cheer you up. it's also a true story.
A chippy from a site I worked on bought a cheap house as an invstment to do up and sell again. It WAS cheap and run down, had heaps of bedrooms and a few bungalows and was inhabited by old single men mainly who could not afford better accommodation. These guys had a few home brews going at any one time and there were many under the influence arguments and goings on at this house during the time Tony had it collecting rent before he renovated it. It was already due for new everything and the price had reflected it.
One of the few times the guys actually agreed on something in their green brew stupor was when they started being attacked by european wasps and the discussion formed the opinion that just before dusk, they should loosen some weatherboards on the bungalow where the wasps lived and pour some petrol in and that would fix the little bastards.
So it happened as prescribed and bit by bit they sloshed almost four litres of petrol in behind the weatherboard. Everyone agreed what a good job they had done and more green brew was consumed to celebrate.
When it got a bit darker the bungalow occupant went inside and turned the light on, you guessed it, the spark from the light switch ignited the fuel in the wall, blew some plaster off the inside behind a large cupboard, knocked the already loosened weather boards off and an almighty fire of burning wasp nest and petrol ensued with plenty of angry wasps to keep the green brew spontaneous firemen doubly occupied.
Tony found out about it a week later by which time they had made enough temporary repairs for it to be okay, just.
