I actually telephoned former MD when GP (who RIM initially had wrong name and later adjusted) entered into the buy-in. I asked MD if RIM was comfortable with GP given the total lack of info about them...and the ASIC comments and newspaper comments on some of their associates names. MD said basically they were...and they had the money. Always thought the whole thing may end in tears some day.

There is some interesting historical comments on HC about GP...along the lines of xpl1984 comments.....at the time GP came in.
