Let’s all take a breath for a sec, and let’s assume all the conspiracy theories above are wrong (and I’m 99.9% sure they are).
What if being unlisted, and potentially going private, could have a genuine serious rerating of the company’s valuation. Is there evidence to back this up based on valuations of other non-public tech companies? 1000% yes!
What if delisting off ASX genuinely saves the company significant compliance costs and distraction from focussing all their efforts on growing the business. Is there evidence to suggest this is true? 1000% yes!
So if you were a director of this company, and you had to do what’s right for shareholders, would you need to seriously consider a delisting to maximise shareholder return?
When you take the emotion out and conspiracy theories, it is as clear as day why they are doing it.
