I was once told by a CEO of a very large company that to gauge the effect of any one person leaving the company, including the CEO, reach into a bucket of water and grab a handful - then watch. There will be a few ripples, but very soon the water will settle back to where it was, and the change in depth from the water you removed is imperceptible.
Nobody is irreplaceable - contrary to what was stated elsewhere on HC, the current BOD and management team is not the only group of people in the world capable of getting this thing across the line.
Apple is doing just fine without Steve Jobs.
TNG will do just fine (perhaps better) without Paul Burton.
