Lately, I've found myself -- a little obsessively -- researching the mining industry in general, and uranium stocks in particular. I've never been interested in the materials sector before so I don't know what is going through my mind lately! I spent yesterday afternoon reading through this forum's posts going back about 12 months and watching an excellent YouTube video (fireside chat) recommended by Bottsy13. If you read this, thanks very much for posting the video recommendation. I found the information to be invaluable. Also, I watched a video with Duncan Craib discussing the mine and he seems like someone who knows his business very well.
There's a couple of things I'm unsure about. Boss Energy seems fully funded, with all the permits in place, proven uranium reserves, and a short lead time to production. Is there much execution risk from here, or is it simply a logistical issue of getting the contractors to build the infrastructure and then (as investors) waiting 12 months for production to start?
Also, I haven't been able to find any projected earnings figures for 2023 and beyond (only production figures, which didn't mean much to me). Can anyone suggest where l could find expected EPS and anticipated dividend information for when production commences?
Would the company usually update the market on the number of supply contracts in place for the future uranium production? Ideally (as with Woodside Energy with their gas projects) much of the forecast supply is pre-sold in advance on long-term contracts with (in Woodside's case) only 15% sold on the spot market. Do we know what percentage of Boss's production is planned for contracted supply vs the spot market?
This company looks like a good investment opportunity and with a little patience, a strong performer. I guess a risk is procuction starting in 12 months and the commodity price being down 40% by then. Although with uranium mines taking years to come online and an increase in world demand that seems unlikely. I've noticed by comparing the share price chart with Paladin, both companies' share prices seem to rise and fall in unison. Paladin seems like a riskier play though with its Namibia operations.
Any advice, comments or links would be appreciated.
