you cannot ignore the $500 Billion debt the LibNats accrued over the 6 years prior to covid when there was no identified need to increase debt so astronomically. the Libs spent far worse, wasted many $Bns and setup a crippling debt (in Aus terms)..... the covid spending pales into insignificance in comparison.
you can point to the Lab spending if you wish but lets no forget that the Labs had a bigger battle with the GFC, though shorter, than covid presented.
but I'm not saying Labs were better, just that Libs set up the economy to remain in debt for decades. increasing debt to triple what Labs had left ($278Bn) for no reason.
