I do think China has claims over Taiwan but why the heck does CCP wait 70 years to retake its territory which (prior to Japs occupation) predates CCP China qing dynasties. Chiang Kai Shek lost the and set up an opportunistic government at the fall of the Japs when that really should have been handed over to the CCP except for USA meddling at the time to make sure it went to Chiang. Maybe if USA did not meddle 70 years ago we wouldnt be in this mess today, lesson there yes?
Taiwan will eventually surrender IMO. The USA needs to take a step back and not drag us all in to this mess we have enough crap on our plates. A peaceful surrender and negotiation is a much wiser strategy than pretending your tough enough to defeat your neighbour who is 100;s of times more armed and powerful. Become a special state or something that's life we can't always win but we can get the most out of a losing situation. It is selfish of Taiwan to risk other countries lives as well as there own as a sort of kamikaze last gulp of air. I see no problem with One China just as America has no problem with being One America with all of it's lands and territories.
Im not a fan of CCP one bit and love US but i think they need to take big step back here and let it work itself out. Japan for sure a different story defend Jap to the end, but Taiwan, sorry, time to go back home to daddy. All IMO im sure others ll disagree thats up to you too.
