Hi ACB, I agree with some of your assertions. The thing that has diffused the governments ETS is the fact that they came up with their alternative. Labor will hammer home Howard and Costello wanted an ETS, Turnbull wanted an ETS and until recently half the libs including Joe Hockey wanted an ETS. Given this is well known to the electorate and given that what Abbott thought he could shrewdly sell as cheaper to the electorate has done the opposite as his plan is taxpayer funded rather than the big polluters paying. It will not be credible and the fact Turnbull will definetly cross the floor will have some influence on middle of the road voters. Anyway just my thoughts but I do believe the election will probably occur soon after President Obama turns up.
