Abbott knows it's a great big tax on everything, he tells no lie! ... his party have been internally fighting over the concept of an ETS for some years now.

It's a disgraceful tax that will inflate the cost of near everything that relies on carbon for the creation of energy. Carbon free energy will not become cheaper, it will merely be seen as competitive against the inflated prices caused by the tax ... that is to say higher prices of not only energy but everyday items will be here to stay once in place.

This is what the pro ETS mob are pushing for, the equivalent of a new GST of about 12% that in it's first few years will be pointed for the higher earners.

But unlike the GST locked in at 10% this tax is riddled with many variables.
