On the flipside, why should bookkeeping software be so expensive just to add up numbers and keep a record of them? The creative stuff is done at the accountants' office not at the bookkeepers desk. Xero users have been hoodwinked into driving around in an expensive car for no reason at all. I have a +$1m annual turn over and my RKN software for the books costs just $20/month. I've got payroll in that too but not invoices. My monthly time on the books is just a few hours to get the BAS done and fortnightly payroll. I have a bunch of rules for importing the bank statements and most of the work is just reconciling with a few ledger entries. My accountant can view and make any necessary changes at end of FY. Trust me when I say this is a great product. However, Xero is in bed with most accountants and the push from most accountants to use Xero is the problem for Reckon.
