What a load of warped logic by Mr Hastie: (a) he purports to support Aussie Workers when the Libs have done everything their power to smash the Trade Unions (b) he refers to Coal & Gas as "our Sovereign Industries" when there is over 86% of our coal & gas industries foreign owned (The Libs oppose Sovereign Industries...ie: State Owned Enterprises) and Alcoa which he refers to is majority foreign owned...not a sovereign industry either. (c) The Libs under Mr Howard oversaw the biggest overseas outsourcing of Aussie jobs in history with call centres in India, Phillipines, South Africa and any angliphone 3rd world that you can mention (d) The Libs have overseen the outsourcing of the pricing mechanism for our petrol, diesel to Singapore thereby rendering our ACCC powerless to do anything about Big Oil gouging the average Aussie worker at the bowser. And dont mention the offshoring of corporate profits to avoid Aussie Corporate Tax while Mr Hastie's party was in power since 2013. The ATO (albeit 8 years too late) nailed BHP (90% Foreign owned) & RIO (86% Foreign owned) for over a $Billion in Transfer Pricing via Singapore alone! If Mr Hastie purports to represent the better interests of the Aussie Worker & not the interests of foreign owned corporations, then he is in the wrong political party. He should do the decent thing and join Labor....the workers party. While Mr Hastie was assistant Minister over a year ago he sat on his hands in Parliament while ScoMo & Josh opposed a decent wage increase for 2.5 million Aussie workers on $20/hour! And Mr Hastie purports to represent the interests of Aussie Workers.......what a load of bollocks!

If the trade union movement genuinely represented the best interests of workers, then how come union membership has been decimated these last few decades?
