    Hi S8,
What course did you do at Sydney Uni?
I was never much of a Crawl fan.
I guess it was because I was into other things at the time.
Having said that it's important to note that everything has it's place in the scheme of things and Aussie Crawl regardless of my thoughts, certainly have their place.
Regarding Crawl I think that the talent was with Guy McDonough who unfortunately died. He was a talented songwriter, and I think i was he too who sang"Errol" . Please correct me if I'm mistaken.
Brad Robinson who played bass, strangely enough ended up being Paul Hester's manager after Paul left Crowded House.
Ah the things I could say about rhythm sections!

James certainly has his time in the sun with "Reckless"
The version I prefer is in fact not Australian Crawls, but James's own re recording on "Electric Digger Dandy"
For me the arrangement was more sensitive to the song.
In regards to James's diction, I think he has some lessons at some stage as it was an issue. ( with some..)

If you are interested in seeing James live nd you live in the Sydney/Gosford area James will be playing at the Foggy Mountain Jam on Saturday 27th of February.
It's being staged at Wolombi valley and he'll be playing with Kasy Chamers & husband Shane Nicholson ( easy gig for them because they don't live far away!), Kaseys dad Bill Chambers , Vicky & Linda Bull & Matt Gow.

    Back to favourite gigs!

The Cure & The Machinations @ the Narrabeen Antler Hotel, legendary home of Midnight Oil 1985.
It was the Faith tour 1981.
I can rember The Machinations being booed off stage..beacuse they were using a drum machine!
800 or so stoned bodies bopping up and down in inison to "Other Voices"
    Classic gig.
Another venue with much history now gone.
