There is an increase in interest for magnetite operations in Australia, but the question is how much of it, and how appealing is it?

I can't talk to the likes of Gina's Atlas Iron and FMG's Iron Bridge, but I know that AKO is a far more compelling proposition compared to HIO, for a large number of reasons.

Two large reasons are the recovery rate and the grind size.

HIO have a Davis Tube Recovery (DTR) rate of about 13% at a ~30 micron grind as per their Mineral Resource Upgrade - https://hotcopper.com.au/threads/ann-mineral-resource-upgrade.6858889/

AKO have a Davis Tube Recovery of about 38% at a 75 micron grind as per the last quarterly - https://hotcopper.com.au/threads/ann-june-quarterly-report.6866059/

The grind size is important is it requires additional equipment, processing and power. I am sure there are a number of other things, but these are significant enough.

Screen shots from the respective announcements below for your reference.
