NZ imports about $836 million of Steel products from China, and China buys from us, so in reality New Zealand is buying from us!!!!
thats $167 per head of population
Also about the same produced locally by bluescope.... which is struggling to make a profit and considered closing the plant in 2020.
Chinese Steel with Australian Iron Ore is still the most economical solution!!
