Noting that this is the innaugaral dividend for TER and these are usually higher than steady state dividends, 10 cps unfranked (7 cps fully franked) is still a huge amount equating to a (7 x 2)/76 = 18.4% fully franked yield. I dont have any spare funds for now, but this is definitely on my watch list. As regards CRN, their dividend is AUD 0.1075 cps fully franked, which assuming the same amount every half year gives us (0.1075 x 2)/1.60 = 13.4% fully franked. Granted that CRN has a 5 percentage point lesser yield than TER, however, I personally think the advantage for CRN is they have a geographically spread risk when it comes to govt/federal taxation policies. You only need to take a look at the recent QLD govt's royalty hike to see how TER can be affected a lot more than CRN. I will keep researching TER, because I do like the yield and given how close I am to retirement, passive income is the way to go. Thanks once again. Just out of curiosity, were you able to recoup your entire investment in CRN through dividends? That's what I presume should happen and once the dividends generated are larger than the value of the investment, your shares are then free carried. What's your story?
