it seemed like their was going to be a decent retraction from VIL today when the price was hovering around 6.5-6.7.. until some huge buys pushed it up and changed the market depth completely. The stampede came in and chewed a huge bunch up. Seems very bullish now - huge positions been taken at high levels.

The annoucement is clear that their is oil and gas - we just need to now know how much. Operations are seized today for the superbowl; but tonight = US monday, and as a result we could expect an announcement on VIL tomorrow on flow rates further pushing up the shareprice. How much though is to be seen. But too me, as they say it in the derivative world, it looks like riskless arbitrage.
