Guys there is a more serious side to all this - ie away from democracy and whether the Taswegians are a part of ze Land of Oz. There are some Taswegians who think they can kick the rest away from them and become a tourist haven with immense wealth to be generated, etc etc etc. One born every minute, I guess.
On to the serious side. What the Chinese Ambassador said is unambiguous, simply stated, unequivocal, clear and precise. That is, Taiwan IS a PART of China. No ifs, no buts, no maybes.
So who is going to do anything about it? My view is that when push comes to a shove, the Taiwanese will be on their own. I may be wrong but that is what I see right now.
