I do get where you are coming from - and, yes, the less SOI, the more each share holder has of the company.
However, it is the true value of a company in what it has on offer in way of assets etc. I own shares in a company with around 6bil shares - it now has an MC of close to $2bil - and the SP has doubled in the last 6 weeks. It has done that on trial results - and having good fundamentals - management, great research team and well cashed up. Having 6bil SOI has not held it back.
SOI are certainly something to take into account but there are quite a few other important parameters that need to be considered and SOI is probably well down the list.
