I'd agree with that - but, only in some cases - and, yes - one can see evidence of it
but, to me - by far - by a country mile - the vast bulk of buying shit is to fill a void in ourselves.
Women - by light years are the biggest consumers - when you see women - wandering about shopping centres by themselves - buying yet more shoes or more clothes - even though they have a very large cupboard absolutely full of clothes and shoes - or buying yet more kitchen bits or furniture - all of which they already have more than one piece of -
that's some psychological disorder being exercised --
instead of fixing a character flaw - they are out purchasing excess - probably poor quality goods at inflated prices and at a huge cost to the planet.
If one pulls away from the kitchen shops and the fashion shops - one can actually see the stupidity of humans if one visits an modern shop which sells books - and then electronics
the vast choice of things that we just do not need -------- which are purchased and don't fill any real useful purpose ----
the coffee table book - a bloody hefty piece of useless planet destroying effort and waste - purchased - perhaps flicked through once - probably not fully - then, has a life sitting on a coffee table - and when people sit at the coffee table -
the book is removed to get it out of the way - then, replaced later after the cups and pot etc have been removed
that - is the behaviour of a very strange animal
then, of course - there's the grotesque idea of ---------------------- 'decorative pillows'
and, if that's not a wtf????????? psychological disturbance - then - I don't know what is
