>was about to engage in a rational debate with you but noticed you are an IOU shareholder and pumper
"was about to engage in rational debate but decided to double down on character attacks"
wow really showed meCan I have an opinion from someone that isn't funded by people who want EVs
I digress
links...
1) only talks about CO2. CO2 isn't really even a pollutant compared to heavy metals. Plants and the ocean etc absorb CO2 naturally. No natural processes take care of heavy metals or other synthetic chemicals.
2) same. "global warming potential"
3)same. CO2.
There's more to the environment than carbon in the air. In fact, that's a nothing problem compared to, say, huge amounts if BPA in the ocean or other water tables.
Or killing all the bees. That would be a pretty big problem for all life on this planet, if we accidentally murder all the bees.
>(including recycling the battery),
big assumption
how are we going recycling tyres
oh yeah
not great track record so far
even the CSIRO - a credible source to people who want all this additional trash - note that we currently aren't doing so great at recycling batterieshttps://blog.csiro.au/taking-charge-of-our-lithium-ion-battery-waste/
So yeah.
EV's would be great for the environment if we also spend all the necessary effort to make sure they dont have a huge environmental impact
Which we've utterly failed at in every other form of industry we've come up with
What happened to all those buffalo oops
And so I ask you this. Do you *really think* this time is going to be different?
And are the *components of EV's* really better for the environment?
Assume 50% goes to landfill. Hows that outcome?
Wouldn't it make MORE sense to try to make our CURRENT industry more environmentally friendly? Rather than just make a whole bunch of replacement industry?
