Are you an employee of Wotif? This is not about getting anyone off side, purely introducing some proper research that can better inform those who want to buy the stock.
We could argue about SEO all day. In summary, If you get a high CTR's, that means that your website is very relevant to that keyword, therefore, for google to change algorithms that may negatively effect those sites that have a high ctr is a silly silly strategy for google. I can tell you now, any algorith change that would negatively reduce a sites ranking that is producing a good solid CTR seriously puts question marks over the algorithm methodology in the first place. Google is the best search engine because it produces results that people find most relevant to the search therefore will click on. This "relevance" is what drove Googles success.
I am saying exactly that. Wotifs ranking is high because, in part, they produce higher CTR's. They built this ranking overtime via the SEO strategies i.e. links, TT's etc etc. See above for the rest.
I can tell you now, there are less people searching for accommodation via google than there was 5 years ago. I have my own research but Google will even tell you this. The social revolution is here and I suspect peer to peer communication is starting to slowly have its impact.
Where are you getting your data from that indicates searches for accommodation are in fact increasing??? I would love to see it?
For the record, I do think Wotif is a good company however it has its challenges ahead of it also. Wotif were first to market with something new and that worked. There is however something else around the corner that will change everything, just like Wotif initially did!
Cheers
