Hardly Trumped up charges when no charges have been laid.
But there are potentially plenty of charges if the DOJ believe it warrants prosecution.
Bottom line is, Trump took documents he wasn't legally entitled to take, he didn't return them in a timely manner despite multiple requests and opportunities, some of the documents he took were Classified.
There is also a big cloud hanging over Trump in regard to the handling of the documents, like who had or was given access.
If any of the current lot of documents are also classified, then Trump's legal woes are amplified.
It is indisputable that Trump had documents he wasn't legally entitled to have, that in itself could lead to charges.
There is absolutely no reason a private citizen should have those documents, so why didn't he hand them back when first approached by the National Archives.
