On a beautiful summer day at a music festival, or a balmy evening at a pub on the Thames at Hammersmith, it can be brilliant. Even a few beers at the local pub (depending where the pub is, of course) and a curry after is pretty good. It also has the advantage of being close to Paris, Chamonix etc etc. Every time I go back to London or Paris or another European city am always amazed by the history of the place and the amazing buildings.
The problem is those brilliant moments are too few and are overwhelmed by the greyness, cold weather, thuggish behaviour etc .
Thus, I live in Sydney.
