He lost his job as a professor because he questioned the integrity of a colleague’s research not because he falsified any of his own work.
If he had not questioned his colleague and pointed out discrepancies in the research, would that mean that the discrepancies don’t actually exist?
Proper science still needs to be able to stand up to peer reviews, attacking a critical review because it highlights the glaring errors isn’t how the review process is supposed to work.

The evidence that Galileo put forward was not accepted and was what was used as an excuse to keep him under house arrest until his death.
Just like Ridd, his opinions at the time were muffled.

As for your claim of evidence?
Scientific modelling isn’t evidence but opinions based on assumptions with the limited data that is known/assumed at the point in time that they run the model.
That is why all those doom & gloom predictions have fallen flat over the last 40 odd years.
