Geez ... talk about missing the bleeding obvious ....

Please read the heading of this thread: "Dyesol in Germany - on the Starting Grid" which is also the unusually racey heading of DYE's last quarterly.

Now check out this dictionary definition of "starting grid"

    "starting grid
    n
(Individual Sports & Recreations / Motor Racing) Motor racing a marked section of the track at the start where the cars line up according to their times in practice, the fastest occupying the front position."

Now see what I posted the other day from Wikipedia about which are the biggest companies in the German state where DYE is setting up their new office, Bavaria.

"The motorcycle and automobile makers BMW (Bayerische Motoren-Werke, or Bavarian Motor Works) and Audi, Allianz, Grundig (consumer electronics), Siemens (electricity, telephones, informatics, medical instruments), Continental (Automotive Tire and Electronics), Adidas, Puma, HypoVereinsbank (UniCredit Group), Infineon and Krauss-Maffei Wegmann have (or had) a Bavarian industrial base."

Starting grid ... BMW ... Audi .... join the dots ...

My excuse is that I was thrown by these comments by Dyesol in their latest quarterly:

"The executive team is evaluating a number of highly prospective new business opportunities and anticipate being able to make announcements during the third quarter as we conclude due diligence and commercial negotiations.

Big business is awake and aware of the business opportunities. The market places Dyesol is addressing ? particularly BIPV ? should be the premium growth business opportunity as margins reduce for the traditional solar farm projects."

Given the singling out of building products, BIPV, in the quarterly I had assumed that the announcements to be made either in this month or next (that is in what is left of the third quarter of this fiscal year) would be about the steel sheeting and Corus. However maybe just maybe commerical negotiations regarding the auto division are at such a stage as to warrant a local presence near big businesses in the autor secto, and there are lots of such operators that are based in Bavaria.

Please note I have no inside info, have not spoken to anyone who would be in the know and as such I am making this stuff on the fly.

    Cheers

I cannot believe that Dyesol gave such an unsubtle hint as to what Dyesol is doing in Germany and I missed it. Since the AGM in November last year they have been promoting that auto is one of four main areas of focus and I could never work out what exactly they were working on to justify this changed emphasis.
