Years ago,I (with wife) was invited to move from UK to Australia to commission and subsequently manage a grass-roots operation. All expenses plus house and car.

10+ years and two children later, same company offered me a "promotion" back in UK. Poor souls in London office couldnt understand why I simply said "No". No way was I prepared to inflict miserable weather, awful lifestyle and the British snobbery/class system on my family.

It meant I had to change jobs which turned out to be my third best career move.

No doubt about it, Australia is the finest place in the world.
