Thanks so much for finding and sharing the interview with Dean.
Probably one of/the best interview (they always just get better and better?) - I was going to jot down a few main points from it but I think I ended up jotting down 90% of the interview (per below).
After listening to this interview, it's now getting more clearer of the potential scale/how big the Rare Earths over the whole Mangaroon project could turn out to be.
From the interview:
Mangaroon project (Rare Earths):
- "Certainly exceeded expectations (Yin)"
- "First drill holes at Yin have produced some of the thickest, and highest grade intercepts, that the Gifford Creek Carbonatite complex has seen in over 14 years of exploration"
- "Since those first 6 holes, we have continued drilling...we're up to over 100 holes now"
--> results released for the first 6 holes so far, out of over 100 holes drilled
- "We have an avalanche, or tidal wave, of newsflow coming on the back of Yin"
- "Thick ironstones mineralised with Rare Earths extend over 3km (at Yin)"
- "Important to state that, that's just over the first 3km that we had cleared to drill"
--> i.e. heritage clearance, guessing that they will clear a lot more around Yin while they drill out Y3 and the C1-C5 carbonatites
- "Still drilling out/in-filling Yin and will be moving over to Y3 in the next week or two"
- "Y3 produced some of the highest rock chips at the Mangaroon project"
--> hopefully drilling reflects the rock chips
- "Knock out another 2.5/3km's of ironstones that are sticking out of the ground there (at Y3)"
--> another 3km of mineralisation at Y3 would potentially double the size of the current 3km at Yin
- "Then move up to our C1-C5 carbonatite targets which have a fantastic opportunity to change the scale of the opportunity for Rare Earths in the Gascoyne region"
Then Dean gives a little summary:
- "There's a tsunami of newsflow coming...I'm going to be busy writing announcements"
- "We have 8,000 samples at the lab (from Yin)"
- "More arriving every single week"
- "So, there's going to be fairly consistent newsflow coming out on the Yin Rare Earths"
- "Then we're going to move to Y3...there'll be news on the back of that - could turn into a new discovery"
- "We like to use the word "Discovery" (only) on the back of (at least) 3 drill intercepts...so we'll save it until we've put drill holes into it"
- "Then we'll move onto C1-C5"
- "Potentially more discoveries there"
- "And then, in the background, we've only really touched on a small fraction of these radiometric & outcropping anomalies...and we have 66 to 100 of these other anomalies...that the guys are out there, right now, looking at"
- "We've added 3 new people to the Company (geos - 2 junior & 1 senior)"
- "So, we have another team in the field, that's just going through & looking at these regional targets that could turn into the next Yin, (or) the next Y3"
- "So, it's important to point out that, while Yin is extremely exciting, it's really just the tip of the iceberg"
Kimberley project:
- "Nick Chapman (senior geo) is looking after the Kimberley"
- "Auger rigs kicking in, looking for Orion's friends"
- "We also have an EM survey coming out over Wombarella, which is a Ni-Cu-PGE target"
Central Yilgarn project (Illaara + new projects):
- "We also have Leah Dawson (senior geo) on board to keep Central Yilgarn ticking over"
- "We've just consolidated that region"
- "We think there's a good opportunity for commercialisation of that asset"
