    Of course, I remember the 'Rivers of Blood' speech that Enoch gave all those years ago and I sort of agreed with him at the time, even though he was widely condemned for having made the remarks.
    With hindsight he was entirely accurate, but the difficulty is that England being an island, and never invaded since the Norman conquest, had a sort of idea of itself out of place in the emerging world:

    Stands the Church clock at ten to three, and is there honey still for tea?

    The end result was that the 'silent' invasion after WW2, firstly from European immigrants and then from the West Indies and later from Pakistan, India . . . was a sudden shock to people.
    Here in Australia, we can, and should, have a much more laid back attitude. Ignoring the Original Australians argument, it's been pretty much open slather for generations
    and, yes, goodbye White Australia - Bill Hayden got one thing right, ours will, one day, be a great Eurasian society.
