I guess because it is hard to seperate Groote Island from other assets and breakdown BHP's marcap into producing resource parts (especially when they are joint ventures) and compare it with virgins like ARM's 100% Capricorn Sth .
Capricorn Sth is obviously a significant resource, and a drilling program should enable an accurate comparison . So far ARM are estimating that they have more than 10 million tonnes of high grade Manganese (based on sampling) but if it runs deep it could conceivably be far larger than anything in the country .
