I agree this is not a surprise to many who have been following what has been happening in the industry. You have massive increases in materials and the worst part is the massive increase in the cost of labour and threat of industrial action where unions have been holding many companies to ransom with some ridiculous demands not just for pay but for working conditions where they get to spend a lot of doing very little.

It’s hard to hit the ‘go’ button right now, knowing there is a good chance a union is likely to delay your project and substantially blow out its costs.
