Nuclear power plants have been around for more than half a century. They are getting more expensive, not less.
So, why would you go with the most expensive, redundant, toxic waste creating power system when there is a better, more flexible alternative many times cheaper ?

The UK is going hard on renewables. They are not blessed with the resources or the land area that we have in Australia and they also have an existing nuclear industry that they can lever off.
And yet, they are in front of us in terms of flexible energy pricing and evs.
