MELBOURNE has held on to its status as the third most liveable city in the world.
The latest index by The Economist magazine, released yesterday, scored the city just 2.5 points short of perfection.
Vancouver, Canada's host of the Winter Olympics, rated top of the annual survey, scoring 98 out of 100 on a comparison of stability, healthcare, education, infrastructure, culture and environment.
Vienna in Austria was second with 97.9, just ahead of Melbourne's 97.5.
What do you think makes Melbourne a liveable city?
