There seems to be a widespread concern about the risk of government effectively stealing our super by changing the rules. I think this is a serious risk whichever party is in government. The risk has become greater recently with the government getting away with changing the system despite promising not to. It dismissed this broken promise as 'fine tuning'.
I think it is inevitable that we will see more 'fairness measures'. There will be various mechanisms to take money off self funded retirees and give it to 'working families'.
We need to be clear with both parties. Stop tinkering. Super needs long term certainty if people are to have confidence in it. bacci
