Couldn't agree more with you Alexis. I am RG146 certified. Got thro the course with full HDs, which wasn't hard at all to be fair, but.... I am not in that industry for a reason. The industry is structured really badly, though the removal of trailing commission and recent changes to inhouse cross-selling has helped to remove a lot of conflict of interest. With all due respect to my classmates (and even lecturer), I wouldn't trust one cent of my money with any of them. It was frightening how little they knew, and worse, what their motivation were to become financial planners/advisors. That said, I do personally know of a handful of advisors who are quite brilliant but they are few and far in between. So we shouldn't cast out a box of apples just because of a few bad ones
