What's more, Qantas is not even a great airline anymore. Yes, it does have (still!) a decent safety track-record, but so do many other airlines. However, the tickets are highly overpriced, service and food are nowhere comparable to any of the major Asian airlines (Thai, Singaporean, Vietnam Airlines, etc. are all far superior), and we all know what happened to the realiability of Qantas -- it's safer to book AirAsia or Scoot. Not even going to get into balance sheet discussion. One man single-handedly destroyed what was a pretty darn decent airline, our national flag carrier. I am not sure why this man is still paid so many millions and why this man is not held accountable. Is he our local Grey Cardinal, the leader of the lizard club, the untouchable? The stench is pretty foul.
