Unfortunately s249n of the Corporations Act sets a low bar to allow resolutions to be moved at a general meeting -
CORPORATIONS ACT 2001 - SECT 249N
Members' resolutions
(1) The following members may give a company notice of a resolution that theypropose to move at a general meeting:
(a) members with at least 5% of thevotes that may be cast on the resolution; or
(b) at least 100 members who are entitled to vote at a general meeting.
ie there are at least 100 grubs who hold a total of 21,000 shares that are making this resolution and get to waste management's time.
I think we should get together to make a resolution that climate change issues should not be heard at a general meeting. Who is with me? - I need 100 upvotes
