It's not exactly finding a needle in a haystack, as,
1) PL2 worked and PL3 didn't, so the mask steps causing the problem are potentially 50 out of 1500.
2) They can compare two cells that already exist.
The biggest issue is that the fix PL3 only to have another unforeseen problem.
IF Imec choose to continue, rather than ending the relationship with 4DS, this shows the technology is innovative enough to assume this risk.
Guido will be crucial.
