Jake, I hope you don't mind if I steal this post of yours from the ICN thread, as it has general interest to all those in the CSG sector. But there is also a specific link with ESG...

    (my comments below):

"In an earlier post I mentioned my confidence in the CSG industry, partly based on the fact that the Big Boys in the O&G industry were committing huge $ to the CSG industry.
They also professed confidence in the growth of the Asian markets.

Well I thought I would also mention that now NOBLE GROUP is stating that it is interested in the industry (in Australia). I had not thought of them as a player before. They state they are interested in "greenfields or brownfields" opportunities.

Are we a brown or green field?

Noble is yet another smart "big boy" ignoring the chant of a gas glut - and focussing on the longer-term outlook.

    cheers

Richard Elman, the founder and chairman of key Gloucester Coal shareholder Noble Group, sits down with Business Spectator's Isabelle Oderberg to explain:

"... RE: Yeah. We want a global business, so we have for example a large ethanol business in the United States which has got nothing to do with anything, so to speak, but its part of the global business, so we see ethanol throughout the world. Maybe we should be in ethanol in Australia, but I think actually looking at Australia probably natural gas or methane gas is probably much more interesting.

IO: Oh, really? Is that something that you would be looking to explore?

RE: I think its something more interesting, yes."

MY COMMENTS: ESG holders will recall that Chris Sadler was heavily involved with Gloucester Coal and the subsequent involvement with The Noble Group. And now The Noble Group say "I think actually looking at Australia probably natural gas or methane gas is probably much more interesting."

Interesting indeed. So many very large parties out there that are looking to secure gas, particularly in Australia.

    Y
