Some fun facts, and just picking on California, the largest economic state in the US and ranking as the worlds 5th largest economy, thus a meaningful economic sub set in which to assess what's possible wrt powering an electric vehicle fleet, with plenty left over to keep the lights.
- California put 237, 618 new EV on the road last year. Conservatively speaking, that represents nearly 1 new TWh of electricity demand needed (0.95 TWh).
- To ensure those EV's can be charged, while keeping the CA economy churning over, new electricity generation capacity from wind and solar alone was 8.45 TWh last year.
CA are well ahead of the curve, a good example what can be done once you pull your head out of your ass....
