Good point Dust and when we get away from the 'politics' of it that would be the most sensible thing to do. However I believe that the pull over to the left to turn right rule is Victorian only?
Definately not a WA rule and quite possibly his driver was from NSW? and didn't know that was permissable?
Just guessing but anyway the responsibility lies with the truck driver and van driver to keep their eyes on the road and not the obvious distraction.
Rumours are it wasn't Rudd driving the truck...it was Turnbull
