Ange keeping the fractures open is very important in this style of horizontal drilling method, Frm what I am reading the wells of this type can be plugged in stages, I ound this in the Jan 20th ann, " The well will be drilled into the objective and logged to evaluate the shallower secondary objectives. The well will be horizontal at this point and will then be cased in preparation to drill the middle Bakken objective. Following the drilling of the horizontal section of the well, a liner will be placed with external casing packers, so that the horizontal section can be isolated into 15 stages, which will then be fracture stimulated sequentially. This operation is line with current industry practice, which has returned significant results and firmly established the economic viability of the middle Bakken in this geographic area generally.
Ok so we are moving pretty quickly drilling in the region, (50ft per hour) plus under budget, (which would be a positive study for the stakeholders in SSN) for further development of 100% SSN wells in the future, now if I read it right there should be 15 announcements along the way, SSN has not confirmed how many fracc stages they are expecting now but if they are plugging the fraccs along the way it should be exciting. I am hoping someone else may add to this.
